Want longer bottom times on your favourite dives?

The RAID Nitrox (Enriched Air) course teaches you how to plan and dive with higher oxygen mixes to extend your no-decompression limits — especially useful on multi-dive days and liveaboards.

At Hydronauts, we focus on interactive classroom sessions and hands-on learning to make sure you're confident using Nitrox in the real world.

You can choose between two options:

Nitrox dry
Theory and tank analysis only
5,500 THB
Nitrox wet
Theory, tank analysis, plus two open water dives
8,500 THB

This course can also be combined with the Deep 40 course, giving you both the skills and confidence to dive deeper and longer.

What the Nitrox Course Looks Like

Day 1 — Classroom Session & Tank Analysis Workshop

Whether you choose Nitrox Dry or Nitrox Wet, your training begins with a focused classroom session. You'll cover enriched air theory, dive planning, oxygen exposure, and equipment considerations with your instructor. You'll learn how to analyze Nitrox tanks, set your computer correctly, and apply everything you've learned in a hands-on workshop.

Day 2 — Open Water Dives (Nitrox Wet only)

If you choose Nitrox Wet, you'll head out on our morning boat for two ocean dives: one on air and one on Nitrox. This way you'll experience the difference in no-decompression limits and see how Nitrox benefits real dives.

What you need to know

  • Duration: ½ day (Nitrox Dry) or 1½ days (Nitrox Wet)
  • Certification: RAID Nitrox (Enriched Air) — certifies you to use Nitrox mixes with up to 40% oxygen content
  • Optional open water dives: 1 dive on Nitrox + 1 dive on air (Nitrox Wet option)
  • All equipment & insurance is included
  • Small groups — maximum 4 students per instructor
  • Nitrox pairs perfectly with the Deep 40 course for extended dive times at greater depths

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Nitrox and why should I use it?
Nitrox (also called Enriched Air) is a gas mix with more oxygen than regular air. Diving on Nitrox lets you stay at depth longer by extending your no-decompression limits (NDL). It's especially useful if you're doing multiple dives in a day or heading on a liveaboard.
  • Do I need to be certified to take the nitrox course?
Yes, you need to hold at least an Open Water certification (RAID Open Water 20 or equivalent) before you can take the Nitrox course. This is a specialty program, not an entry-level course.
  • How deep and what mix will I be certified for?
The RAID Nitrox certification qualifies you to dive on Nitrox mixes with up to 40% oxygen content. It does not extend your depth limits — you'll be certified to use Nitrox only to the maximum depth of your existing certification.
  • Is Nitrox safe to use?
Yes, Nitrox is very safe when used correctly. In the course, we'll teach you everything about oxygen exposure, dive planning, and tank analysis so you can dive Nitrox safely and confidently.
  • What are the benefits of Nitrox diving?
The main benefit of diving Nitrox is longer bottom times at certain depths. You'll also reduce nitrogen build-up in your body, which means less decompression stress and less fatigue — especially useful when doing multiple dives in a day.
  • Do I have to do dives for the course?
No, the dives on the Nitrox course are optional. If you prefer, you can complete Nitrox Dry (theory only). But we recommend Nitrox Wet, since diving on Nitrox gives you real experience handling different computer settings and shows you how it feels compared to air.
  • Where is the certification valid?
The RAID Nitrox certification is recognized worldwide. Once certified, you'll be able to rent Nitrox tanks and dive enriched air wherever you go.
