Try Diving

with Hydronauts

Try Diving on Koh Tao! A Try Dive is a 1-day experience in scuba diving. It’s a great way to experience scuba diving on Koh Tao if you are short on time or would like to get a feel for scuba diving before signing up to become a certified diver in the Open Water 20 course.

Koh Tao’s warm, tropical waters make it the premier location to try diving. You’ll spend a few hours with an instructor in our purpose-built training pool before being taken out on our two-story dive boat for the afternoon.  While on the dive boat you’ll have the choice to do one or two dives with your instructor.

At the end of the day, you’ll come back to the beachfront diving resort where you’ll debrief what you learned with your instructor, enjoy a beverage at the beach bar, and watch the sunset.

No experience is required to try diving.

1 Dive – 2,500 THB

2 Dives – 3,500 THB

Must be a minimum 12 years of age to try diving.

Must be medically fit to scuba dive.

Step 1 -
Forms & Theory

You’ll meet your instructor and complete some paperwork before some academic theory and learning about how to set up the scuba equipment.

Step 2 - Pool Training

You and your instructor will spend some time in the training pool where you’ll learn basic breathing techniques, equalistion methods, clearing your regulator, clearing your mask, and how to control your body position and buoyancy in the water.

Step 3 - Open Water Dives

After a break, you’ll head out on our dive boat for an afternoon trip where you can choose to do one or two dives. Your instructor will be with you the entire way through your dive helping you equalise your ears, neutralize your buoyancy in the water and get you to enjoy your surroundings as you defy gravity.
